The Police in Concert, 1979

The Police in Concert at the Russell House Ballroom on the campus of the University of South Carolina on October 11, 1979, a couple of days after Regatta de Blanc was released.

I recently found an old scan of the not-very-good print of the not-great B&W picture I took back then. I was still learning how to use the scanner at the time, and the source print was kind of beat up to begin with (check out that texture on the paper!); so until I can track down the print to try scanning it again, or, better yet, find the original negatives and get new prints made, this will have to do.

I've traded off contrast for dynamic range in the midtones here (compare it to this other picture from the same concert that I posted in 2006), but, like I mentioned above, I wasn't even working with a TIFF or PSD of the original scan as my starting point, so there was only so much I could do.
