And with the bang of a gong, they were off and running like an unstoppable freight train. The Police, that is. The best concert I've ever seen. The first show from the U.S. leg of their tour in Seattle.

Whereas most reunion tours present the band as a pale shadow in the light of their former glory, Sting, Stewart, and Andy appeared resurrected, each with the strength of ten men, before a crowd eagerly awaiting the second coming. After exploding into their set with a battering ram that was Message in a Bottle, Sting opened up his voice with an irrepessible wail to make his presence felt at the outset of Synchronicity II. Given no warning as to the magnitude of Sting's voice, the crowd instinctively responded to his demands by rocking out.

Thunderous applause and screams were heard throughout the evening and seemed to grow louder with each encore. We just wouldn't let them go. My favourite songs of the night were: So Lonely, Wrapped Around Your Finger, Synchronicity II, and King of Pain. So Lonely had a wonderful arrangement and a great sing-a-long. Well, I was singing along most of the time, but that one was especially nice. I could've died a happy man at the end of that show.

This shot was taken during Wrapped Around Your Finger. You can't really tell, but the stage lights were an awesome shade of purple with small round lights dancing around on the stage floor. It was beautiful. I asked my brother for his cell phone and took this picture. I finally found a good use for a cell phone. Who knew there was one?

Although I couldn't tell until about halfway through their set, Andy Summers had a South Park guitar strap that said, "Oh my god, they killed Kenny!"

It's interesting to note that the photographers up front were all shooting on pretty white L Series Canon lenses. Yeehaw!
